11th Annual Holiday House Tour and Community Open House

Take a trip back in time to the festive Gettysburg Area and kick-off your Yuletide Season! This year’s tour is bigger and better than ever and will offer two full days and nights of activities for all ages and interests! New to the tour this year is the addition of several historic community buildings open exclusively for guests of the Yuletide Tour. Yuletide Gettysburg begins on Friday evening with an exclusive Historic Church Tour in downtown Gettysburg. On Saturday, spend the day visiting our holiday decorated B&B’s and the exclusive historic properties that are part of this year’s event. Saturday night begins with “Dinner with Santa” at Boyd’s Bears, then visit the United Methodist Church’s live Nativity scene as well as a candlelight tour with Civil War era music at the Christ Lutheran Church. Sunday afternoon gives you an opportunity to continue touring the historic B&B’s and community buildings from noon to 5 pm.

Get your ticket stamped at each venue and enter to win our Grand Prize Drawing, to be held Sunday evening at the conclusion of the tour. Prizes will include gift certificates from local merchants, and one lucky Grand Prize Winner will be awarded two tickets for an exclusive tour of the Cupula of Old Dorm at the Lutheran Seminary. This extremely limited tour is offered only twice per year, with normal ticket prices starting at $100 per person!

Advanced tickets are on sale for $20.00 per person, or two for $35.00. Tickets sold on the days of the tour will be $20.00 per person. Stay at one of our sponsoring Inns and receive TWO FREE TICKETS!!

For an additional fee, reserve an exclusive Dinner with Santa at Boyd’s Bears, open only to tour guests. Cost for the dinner is $10.95 for adults and $9.95 for children. You can also reserve private candlelit tours of the Schriver House Museum. These tours will run both Friday and Saturday nights and are $10.00 per person.

Each inn will be festive with decorations for the season, and you will be greeted at each by period dressed hosts. You will then have the opportunity to tour and learn the history and happenings of each property. You will also have a chance to enjoy tours of private buildings which are rarely open to the public, including Schmucker Hall and the Reverend Schmucker House on Seminary Ridge, the Daniel Lady Farm, and the GAR Building. This year’s tour also includes tours of many of the historic churches in Gettsyburg. Each stop is a unique experience.
